Welcome to the internet home of CAHAThe Canton Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) is a non-profit organization established on April 6, 1999 to serve and support local recreational demands for Ice Hockey. Our mission is to foster, promote and teach Amateur Hockey and to provide the maximum opportunity for all eligible individuals to participate in Amateur Hockey Games and Activities.. We need your support!CAHA is organized as a "not-for-profit" or exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. CAHA is financed with membership dues, fundraising activities, and contributions from businesses and individuals. If you would like to make a contribution to the Association, please contact CAHA at (734)544-4460. We are currently reviewing requests for sponsorship, so act now!! Registration and House Draft InformationOpen registration for the Fall seasons start April 1st. Hard copies of the form are available at the Arctic Edge on Michigan Ave., at the Canton Summit on Park, or click on Registration Form on this site. Fill out the form completely, attach the registration fee check,
and send it to the address provided on the form. We highly recommend
that you fill out the form and submit it as soon as possible. The
forms are dated and numbered when they are received, if there is
a waiting list due to the number of registrants, the early registrants
are those that make a team. If you submit the form late, and there
isn't enough room on a team for your child(ren), your registration
fee will be returned. You can avoid this by registering early. Evaluation skates for house players are run in August. The ratings assigned during the draft are used to place each child on a team as part of the draft process that is required by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA). This ensures that the teams that are put together are as even in ability as possible. As a result of the draft, the house teams are formed in August and practices will begin the beginning of September. Travel teams are formed in July and begin skating right after the team has been formed. Ice times for games and practices are sorted out once we know home many teams we will have, but you can count on three hours of ice each week. Two skates during the week after school times and once on the weekends. Our teams play up and down the I-275 corridor. That includes Dearborn, Westland, Garden City, Plymouth, etc. Teams often decide to attend hockey tournaments as well. Those are up to the coach, manager, and parents to arrange.
